Technology Showcase coming in August!

Technology users inage

We are getting super excited about hosting the upcoming Technology Showcase during General Session week on August 27! We were unable to host the showcase last year due to the wonderful construction taking place in the Student Center. Now that the space has been renovated, we’ve reserved the Kellogg Room (a.k.a. The Quiet Dining Room) to show off our wonderful faculty and staff use of technology.

Mark your calendars for August 27 from 11 am – 1 pm. We’ll have technology demonstrations, prizes, and (of course) fabulous food. Come speak with other faculty and staff about how they used mobile devices, apps, interactive video chat, customized video, research guides, social media, educational technology tools and so much more!

Check out our previous showcases on the Learning Technologies website: http://www.kellogg.edu/academics/etech/ET-Showcases/ETShowcase.html

ATCS: Assessment & Teaching of 21st Century Skills

What are the skills for the 21st century? ATC12S started with over 250 researchers across 60 institutions and came up with four broad categories:

  • Ways of thinking
Creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and learning
  • Ways of working
    Communication and collaboration
  • Tools for working
Information and communications technology (ICT) and information literacy
  • Skills for living in the world
Citizenship, life and career, and personal and social responsibility

How do you find ways to assess 21st century skills? How do you integrate that into your classroom (f2f or online)? Take a look at atc21s.org for resources, ideas, and innovations.
